We offer help and advice on all aspects of product liability law including all aspects of product liability legislation. We frequently defend claims of product liability brought against manufacturers.

Reforming measures were introduced in early 2004 aimed at containing costs for the benefit of consumers of legal and insurance services and the better administration of claims. These measures include the Personal Injuries Assessment Board Act, 2003, the Civil Liability and Courts Bill, 2004 and the Rules of the Superior Courts (Commercial Proceedings), 2004. The Personal Injuries Assessment Bill established a Personal Injuries Assessment Board (now called Injuries  Board). This is a significant development for Irish litigation in general and for the regulation of product liability claims in particular. Read more.

Recent Irish Case Law

* Irish court has no jurisdiction over German retailer. The High Court in Ireland found that it had no jurisdiction over a German retailer where the plaintiff’s claim related to a contract concluded in Germany. Read more.
